Smissou and the Lady

Smissou walked around his little neighborhood all day long, waiting for his mistress, Clémentine, to come home from work.
He was beginning to know all the traders, who gave him hugs and sometimes food in exchange for little hugs.

As he went out the window as usual, Smissou heard someone crying a few floors above.
Finally arrived at the window from which the sobs were coming, Smissou slipped his little head and saw an old lady sitting in her chair.
Not wanting to leave her like that, Smissou entered the living room and sat down on the lady's lap to bring her a little comfort.

"But what are you doing here?" The lady exclaimed.
"Do you belong to someone?"
Loud purrs were heard which calmed the lady a little.
They spent the afternoon together then Smissou had to return home to find his mistress who was not aware of his little escapades.

The next day, Smissou returned to the lady as well as the following days.
She had ended up buying him luxury food, small delicacies and gave them to him without Smissou asking for them.
As soon as the end of the day approached, Smissou systematically returned to his owner.

Smissou and the lady spent all their days together.
As they were alone, they kept each other company.
The old lady understood that Smissou had another family, but she was happy to be able to take advantage of him during the day.
They had lunch together in front of the TV, took a little digestive nap and had a lot of cuddles.

One day Clémentine came home earlier than expected and did not see him.
She looked for him starting with his usual hiding places, then still not finding him, stirred the whole apartment!
"Smissou !! Smissou !!! SMISSOU !!" She cried.
"SMISSOU !! Where are you ??"

"He's here with me!" The old lady shouted at him across the courtyard of the building.
Clémentine stormed up to the second floor and found herself face to face with the old lady and Smissou.
The old lady suggested that Clémentine sit down around a good tea so that she could tell her the whole story.
Clémentine was amazed, but was happy that her cat could help someone who was feeling lonely.
For her part, she admitted that her cat's days must have been a bit sad too and did not mind that they could continue to see each other, on the contrary.
When she got home, she had a little idea for the old lady.

Clementine rang the bell one afternoon at the old lady's door with a little wicker basket in her hand.
Smissou was still there and got out of his nap to see what was going on.
Clémentine offered the basket to the lady who invited her to sit in the living room.
But what could there be in it?
The lady opened the basket and came across an adorable black and white kitten.

"I found it next to my desk and thought you would take care of it.
Nothing prevents Smissou from coming to see you, but at least you will never be alone again. "
The moved old lady hugged Clementine and called the little kitten "Bouchon".
Smissou returned home with his mistress.
He was glad for the lady that she had a new friend in her life.
He was eager to go see them but also to find the fresh fish from the fishmonger that he had not been able to eat for a long time!
